This role-play was designed to enable one of my classes to simulate (roughly) a committee-style meeting. You may or may not want to go as far as having a "chair" and another person "taking minutes" but doing so could be quite instructive for some people.

If necessary, it's worth preteaching all the vocabulary to the whole class to prevent the role-play grinding to a halt when one "committee member" doesn't understand a key word. You may also want to teach particular sentence patterns for presenting ideas / opinions about ideas / and giving a reason to back up the opinion or idea. If you've covered the second conditional form recently, this can be quite good for the latter.... e.g. "If we stopped all outside broadcasts, many local people would stop watching".

Anyway, I hope it works as well for you with your class as it did for me with mine.
